Inspection
Terms of Service
All inspections conducted by Ollie's Automotive are auditory and visual in nature, and include a minimum 5km test drive unless otherwise agreed in advance.
No mechanical components are removed during the inspection process. This includes road wheels, meaning brake drum and rotor measurements are not taken — brake components are assessed by visual inspection only. Chassis dimensional or correctness testing is not performed on-site due to the technical requirements involved.
VIN tags are inspected for correctness and signs of tampering, though their authenticity cannot be guaranteed. Engine numbers will be physically verified where accessible; where they are not, details will be sourced from the vehicle's owner documentation. The speedometer and odometer are checked for functionality only — accuracy cannot be confirmed.
Ollie's Automotive does not provide vehicle valuations. Verification of vehicle particulars and authenticity remains the responsibility of the purchaser.
Every inspection includes a full on-board diagnostic scan of the ECU, triggers, and senders (where fitted), covering all items listed in the written report. While every care is taken in preparing this report, intermittent mechanical or electrical faults may not be detectable at the time of inspection. This includes oil leaks that may have been cleaned or degreased prior to our arrival. Ollie's Automotive cannot accept responsibility for masked faults — mechanical or electrical — that are not evident at the time of inspection.
Timing belts are not physically inspected. Please refer to the manufacturer's documentation for recommended replacement intervals.
All road testing is conducted within locally posted speed limits. Four-wheel drive vehicles are not tested off-road.
The following items are outside the scope of a standard inspection: dusk-sensing headlights, rain-sensing wipers, GPS and in-car entertainment systems, and fuel or oil consumption. Where further workshop investigation is recommended, the client will be advised both verbally and within the written report.
