Here’s Exactly What You’ll Receive
No surprises, no guesswork. Every pre-purchase inspection with Ollie's Automotive comes with a comprehensive written report covering the car from top to bottom. Browse the sample below to see exactly what gets checked — and how we present it to you.
How to Read Your Report
Every item in the report is marked with one of three colour-coded ratings so you can see the car's condition at a glance:
🟢 Checked and Okay — No issues found. Good to go.
🟡 May Need Future Attention — Minor wear or something to keep an eye on. Worth factoring into your decision or using as a negotiation point.
🔴 Requires Immediate Attention — A current issue that needs fixing. We'll flag this clearly so you know what you're walking into.
What We Check
-
Lights (headlights, tail lights, indicators, brake lights, hazard lights, and rego plate lights), wiper operation and blades, windscreen condition, mirrors and glass, horn, emergency brake adjustment, air conditioning filter, clutch operation, dash warning lights, and carpet and upholstery condition.
-
Brake lining thickness and rotor condition on all four corners, tyre tread depth, tyre wear patterns, and tyre pressures before and after. We'll also flag if an alignment check or wheel balance is needed.
-
Shock absorbers, suspension and struts, steering components and ball joints, exhaust system and catalytic converter, engine oil and fluid leaks, brake lines and hoses, CV boots and drive shafts, transmission and differential fluid levels and condition, fuel system hoses, and chassis nuts and bolts.
-
All fluid levels and condition (oil, coolant, power steering, brake fluid, and transmission fluid), engine air filter, drive belts, cooling and heater hoses, radiator and air conditioning condenser, and clutch reservoir condition.
-
Battery terminal, cable, and mounting condition, overall battery health, and cold cranking amps tested against factory specifications.
-
Using a four-angle diagram of the vehicle, we document any prior body damage so you have a clear record of the car's history before you sign anything.
-
If anything needs attention, we note it clearly in the comments section — and where possible, give you a rough idea of what it might cost to fix. That way you can negotiate with confidence or decide to walk away.
You’ll Have It the Same Day
Once the inspection is complete, your report is sent to you digitally — usually within hours of us seeing the car. If anything in the report needs explaining, give Ollie a call and he'll walk you through it in plain English. No confusing technical jargon, just a straight answer on whether the car is worth buying.
